Leading up to the Easter holiday, I've decided to give up drinking for my 40-day sacrifice. As easy as that may sound to some, to me this might be as hard as dunking again. Not to say that I'm a lush or abuse alcohol in any way, but I often have a drink to wind down after a tough day, when I'm just meeting up with friends, or when I'm watching a game. Not to mention I'll be going dry during St. Patrick's Day, my 31st birthday, and The NCAA Tournament (ordered least to most important).
The great thing about it is that I'll have one less thing working in direct opposition of my goal of getting back in shape. Not drinking for 40 days could possibly save me hundreds of dollars. When you couple that with the money I'll save on transportation (driving and cabs) due to my knee surgery, this could be the best thing that ever happened to by bank account. Maybe everyone should have knee surgery and stop drinking!!??!!
